Almost nothing you see here was made here. The imagery, the terrain, the place names and the roads all come from people who published them for others to use, and most of them ask to be named in return.

The map

Satellite imagery © Esri, Maxar and Earthstar Geographics, with road and place labels from the same. Elevation comes from AWS Terrain Tiles, an open dataset built from national elevation surveys and SRTM. Both are named on the map itself as you fly.

The roads and the places

Place names, populations and coordinates are from GeoNames, used under CC BY 4.0. The featured roads were traced from OpenStreetMap and are © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence. Each of those files carries the notice with it, so it travels with the route rather than living only here.

The software

Maps are drawn with MapLibre GL JS (BSD-3-Clause). Icons are Lucide (ISC). The site runs on Hono (MIT) at Cloudflare. Type is Geist, with Barlow Condensed and IBM Plex Mono for the player's readouts.

The music

The built-in songs are licensed for use in the player and in the videos it exports. Anything you supply yourself — a YouTube link on your own route — is yours to account for, which the terms go into.

Your own rides

Yours stay yours. A file you open is read in your browser and goes no further unless you publish it, and a published ride is trimmed at both ends first so it does not begin at your door.
